Translate values into behaviours
Ask what the business wants people to experience: clarity, openness, craft, energy or calm. Connect these words to planning and material decisions rather than applying them only as slogans.
Choose a few deliberate moments
Arrival, shared spaces and meeting settings can carry identity in different ways. Let colour, typography and materials relate without requiring every corner to look the same.
Keep useful information readable
Brand expression should work alongside wayfinding, room names and essential signs. Review visibility and contrast from the positions where people actually need to read them.
Combine daylight and task needs
Look at window positions, screens and the time of day each space is used. Plan blinds or shading alongside electric lighting so that brightness and glare can be managed together.
Take this into your brief.
- Write a short spatial brief for the brand.
- Test the palette and signage as one system.
- Prioritise useful information over decorative messaging.
Write down one priority, one constraint and one question you still need to answer. Review them beside the plan or material sample before agreeing the next design decision.
